Any taxpayer making a donation to the Citizens Clean Elections Fund by Dec. 31, 2010, will receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit of up to $640 or 20% of the tax amount on his or her Arizona income tax return (whichever is greater).  If you file jointly, this tax credit is $640 per person for a total of $1280.

 

You may make a donation to the “Clean Elections Fund” by check or money order only.  The Commission no longer accepts on-line donations as the cost became too prohibitive. 

 

 

You can determine what your liability was last year and donate accordingly.  But please remember that if you do not owe the State income tax, this dollar-for-dollar tax credit will not benefit you.  Donations to the Clean Elections Fund are not tax deductible on your Federal return and cannot be designated to benefit a particular candidate, political party or election.
