Frequently Asked Questions
What ID do I need to vote in Arizona?
Arizona requires voters to show valid identification at the polls. You may present one form of photo ID with your name and address, or two forms of non-photo ID that together confirm your identity and address.
What counts as acceptable photo ID?
Accepted photo ID includes an Arizona driver's license, state ID card, tribal ID, or a U.S. government-issued ID that shows your name, photo, and address.
What if my address on my ID is different from my current address?
You can still vote. If your photo ID lists a different address, please bring a second document, such as a utility bill, bank statement, or government mailing, to confirm your current address.
Can I vote without a photo ID?
Yes. If you do not have a photo ID, you can present two non-photo documents that list your name and address, such as utility bills, bank statements, or government correspondence.
What if I don’t have any acceptable ID with me on Election Day?
You may vote a provisional ballot. You’ll need to return to your county elections office with a valid ID by the deadline for your ballot to count.
Does my ID need to be current?
The name and address on the identification must reasonably match the voter’s name and residence or
mailing address in the signature roster or e-pollbook in order to vote a regular ballot. Identification
is deemed valid unless it can be determined on its face that it has expired. A.R.S. § 16-579(A)(1).
