Apache County Moves To Vote Centers Beginning July 21 Primary Election
More Flexibility For Apache County Voters
Starting with the July 21 State Primary Election, Apache County voters will now use a Vote Center model instead of assigned polling places.
This change gives voters more flexibility on Election Day. Instead of being limited to a single assigned polling place, registered voters in Apache County can vote at any official Vote Center location. That means you can choose the voting location that works best for your schedule, travel route, workday, or errands.
You can locate your nearest voting centers by checking the Clean Election’s Voter Dashboard and entering your location. For the full list of vote centers, click here. Apache County will offer 35 Vote Center locations throughout the county for the July 21 Primary Election.
What Is A Vote Center?
A Vote Center is an in-person voting location where any registered voter in Apache County can cast their ballot, regardless of where they live within the county.
Under the previous polling place model, voters had to go to a specific location assigned to their precinct. If they went to the wrong location, they may not have been able to vote a regular ballot. With Vote Centers, voters have more flexibility and convenience because every Vote Center can serve every eligible Apache County voter.
Why Apache County Made This Change
In April 2026, the Apache County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted the Vote Center model to enhance voter access, simplify Election Day voting, and, importantly, ensure that ballots are not rejected for out-of-precinct voting. With its large geographic area and remote communities, the county’s transition to vote centers will address many challenges voters faced on Election Day, including uncertainty about where to vote and traveling long distances to polling places.
The Vote Center model addresses these issues by offering more convenient voting locations, allowing voters to choose where to vote. This system also helps election officials allocate resources more effectively on Election Day, providing flexible voting sites where voters can cast their ballots conveniently and confidently.
